IKOM– For many years until today, the Headquarters of the Ikom Local Government Area has actively and solely relied on individual sources of electricity for the various departments and offices that make up the Council, not until the intervention of the Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Hon. Pst. [Mrs] Mercy Nsor.
Hon. Mercy Nsor has noted that all Government infrastructures and places of public interest need to be standardized and made habitable to suit the growing demand of the town and its growing profile, especially the Council Headquarters responsible for all the administrative processes of the local government area.
Restoring the general lighting of the Council powdered by the Council’s plant, which has been left unattended for a couple of years today, Pst. Nsor has assured that her administration will continue to advance courses that are environmentally friendly and of economic benefit to the people, noting that plans are already made for rural and urban electrification as measures to curb global warming and improve the environment.
“We are here to make every sector work; we will take one project at a time and accomplish it in due time.
In line with His Excellency, Apostle Senator [Prince] Bassey Edet Otu’s all-inclusive Government Policy on infrastructure and capital development, we will restore electricity in areas where it is epileptic and grace our streets with solar sources as alternatives.”
I understand the importance of Staff working in a serene and conducive environment, reasons why I took it upon myself to ensure that the power plant be returned to its working state to ensure that even the least of my staff can have access to electricity pending when my administration would face squarely the epileptic power supply in Ikom LGA.”
The Chairman recently aided in the restoration of portable Water Supply to the Council Secretariat, Offices and other Senior Staff Quarters have all been renovated and fully equipped, Ultra Modern Toilet Facility for Council Staff, Street Lights around the Council, and the Chairman’s Quarters, as well as Road Maintenance, are a few of the numerous projects being embarked on by this administration.
Other projects are running simultaneously in the LGA with her blueprint being carefully followed and effectively implemented. Pst. Mercy Nsor has reassured the good people of Ikom LGA not to panic as her administration is still on course in terms of timely project delivery.
