ABEOKUTA- A non governmental organization, The Tayo and Yetunde Foundation has donated ‘back to school’ packs to about 300 primary and secondary school pupils in Ogun state.
Speaking at the event sponsored by Aridan Homes, the founder, Engr. omotayo Oyerokun said the outreach is part of the company’s social responsibility to its immediate community.
He added that the gesture is to further encourage the young learners to focus on their education.
“Giving back to the community has always been something I take to heart, I do it every year at different times. I know what it means to be poor, so I ensure to show love and support to my community.
“I dont plan to stop, it has always been an habit for me to give back to people, by the help of God, I will continuously do this. Not just to kids alone, but to different class in the society. The widows, those with health issues and so on”, he said
He however called on the federal government to provide enabling environment for private individuals to key into educational policies of government.
Meanwhile, the foundation as part of its seasonal empowerment program, donated different food stuff to 35 widows in the community.
Handing the food stuff to the widow, the foundation Co-founder, Mrs Yetunde Oyerokun admonish the beneficiaries to see their wards as their future, thereby investing their time and resources on them.
“The kids you see today are your preferred future tomorrow. Take good care of them today, so they can take good care of you tomorrow”, she added
