ABEOKUTA– Deposits belonging to Mrs Adesola oluwaseyi Olalekan, a customer with Access Bank, Sapon branch has mysteriously disappeared.
Mrs Olalekan, while speaking with The News Ville said she opened the said account on the 19th of August, 2024 after fulfilling all necessary documentation, and was issued an ATM card on demand.
She further stated that after opening the said account with ten thousand naira as initial deposit, her husband paid in some money for the family upkeep while away.
“On getting to the ATM machine to withdraw, the card didn’t dispense cash and I went inside the banking hall to make complain or withdraw using the teller.
” It was there I was told my deposits have been withdrawn by 419s. I was dumbfounded, not knowing what to say.
“I request to see the person that opened the account for me and I was told he has been transferred from the branch.
” I am still in shock as to what really happened to all my monies. A recent account just got wiped out like that and they couldn’t come up with any good explanation.
“After explaining to friends and family, I was told am not the first to complain about this new trend of fraud in banking, especially with Access Bank”, she said.
Effort to reach the branch manager for reaction proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
