ABEOKUTA – All is set for a grand convergence of culture, royalty, and strategic communication as the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) hosts the second edition of its signature social and cultural gathering, the Owanbe Nite.
The high-profile event, scheduled to take place on Friday, November 6, 2026, at the Kayode Egbetokun Event Centre in Abeokuta, will be led by the Governor of Ogun State and Patron of the Chapter, Prince Dapo Abiodun, alongside the President of the NIPR, Dr. Neliaku.
Designed to transcend conventional corporate meetings, the gathering is expected to draw a distinguished audience comprising prominent government officials, traditional rulers, captains of industry, communication experts, and business leaders from across the state and beyond.
Centred around the theme, “Ariya Galore: Celebrating the Spirit of Oneness,” this second edition promises an exciting blend of traditional entertainment, strategic networking, peer recognition, and cultural showcase, solidifying its spot as a premier social event for the chapter.
A stellar lineup of dignitaries is expected at the event, including the Chief Strategist of Chain Reaction Africa, Mr. Israel Jaiye Opayemi; the Provost of the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Dr. Joseph Bankole Filani; the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Isiak Saka; and renowned PR practitioner, Dr. Nkechi Ali Balogun.
Royal authority and cultural heritage will also take center stage, with the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and the Towulade of Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran, leading a delegation of traditional rulers and key community stakeholders to the celebration.
Speaking ahead of the grand event, the Chairman of Ogun NIPR, Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, emphasized that Owanbe Nite serves as a strategic initiative aimed at showcasing the broader relevance of public relations through social connection, shared identity, and rich cultural expression.
Mrs. Boye noted that public relations extends beyond boardrooms, highlighting planned cultural performances across Ogun’s three senatorial districts, member recognition awards, and the official unveiling of the Chronicles Magazine, which documents the achievements of the chapter’s outgoing four-year executive tenure.
Following the success of its inaugural edition, Season 2 is set to expand the chapter’s commitment to cultural promotion and innovative stakeholder engagement, with the red carpet opening at 3:00 p.m. ahead of the main ceremony at 4:00 p.m.
