ABEOKUTA– Ogun State Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) will from the 23rd to 27th of November, 2020 at M.K.O Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State holds the 2nd edition of the Fish Fair.
The event, which is being supported by the Ogun State Government through the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment and the Ministry of Agriculture will showcase exhibition designs for fish farming value chain industries.
Addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, the President of the chamber, Alhaji Wasiu Oleleye maintained that the fair will afford all industries in the fish farming value chain to showcase their products and services in order to create awareness and to examine the market trend and opportunities available.
He further stated that the platform will be utilised to introduce new concepts and enhance Economic Strategies in the Fish Industry.
“To this end, all is now set for the long anticipated ‘Ogun State 2nd Fish Fair 2020’ themed “The relevance of Fish Production and Processing in increasing the GDP and alleviating unemployment in Nigeria” which is scheduled to hold from the 23rd to 27th of November, 2020 at M.K.O Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The fair will be opened by 8:00a.m till 6:00pm daily.
“This Fair is designed for the small scale businesses, medium scale businesses, multinationals- absolutely for everyone in fish industry. It is geared towards the improvement of the economic status of the people of Ogun state and its environs while it is fully endorsed by Ogun State Government.
“OGUNCCIMA is joining in Ogun State government in “building our future together” Economic growth of the state in the area of Agriculture, in order to increase her Productivity, and to encourage and develop SMEs through the influx of investors into the state, making her the investment place of choice.
“The 2nd Fish Fair 2020 will showcase various Aquatic products and services, it will promote new businesses, it will birth new ideas, it will promote our non-oil exports, and it will promote our made in Nigeria products, especially those made in Ogun State.
“The OGUNCCIMA 2nd Fish Fair 2020 is one with a difference”, the president added
The Director of Commerce, at the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment, Mr Lere Ariyibi-Opaleye while adding his voice said the Ogun State Government has already concluded plans to assist in planning of the event
He added that the ministry will be adequately represented at the event, stressing that all logistics involved for the event has already been presented to the office of the Commissioner, awaiting approval.
Also, Mrs. Ojelade Victoria Omolara, the Director of Fisheries at the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources informs that the fish fair falls within the vision of the Commissioner, Dr. Adeola Odedina in attaining food sufficiency for the state, adding that the Commissioner is keen to develop the aquaculture sector of the Agric value chains.
She noted that the ministry will mobilise all it’s arsenal to make the event as successful one.
