ABEOKUTA–The Chairman Park Management Services Ltd (PAM), Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin-Iyeru, on Thursday, lamented the death of one of the legend and founder of modern transport unions in Ogun state and Nigeria at large, Alhaji Yussuf Bamgbola who passed away on Thursday evening.
Iyeru, while paying a glowing tribute to Alhaji Bamgbola , said the veteran union leader, sacrificed everything, stood like an activist in trying to defend the interests of transport workers in the road transport sector.
Describing his passage as a great loss, very sad and painful, the PAM boss said Bamgbola was in fact an architect of the existing peace among transport unions in Ogun state at the moment.
“We have lost one of the few technocrats in the road transport sector. Alhaji Bamgbola was a father and mentor to me. He pushed for social stability for all workers in the transport sector as defined in the constitution of our union.
“Baba Bamgbola led so many struggles during his lifetime. He was a brave warrior.
“Dusk has befallen our great union at dawn. Chief Bamgola was an activist till his death. A man of humility, always transparent and diligent in his dealings. A man of repute and reputable service to the people. He left us at a time his wealth of experience is needed most.
“I pray that the Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest, and the family the fortitude to bear the the loss,” Iyeru prayed.
