Issue Fake Ticket At Your Own Peril, Ogun AMORAN Chairman Warn Members

ABEOKUTA– The Ogun State Chairman of Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Otunba Nurudeen Aina has declared that renewed efforts and measures would be put in place to curb the menace of fake tickets.

Alowonle as fondly called, described the ugly practice as a capital offence which would be met with severe penalty. He warned that any member of the Union caught with fake tickets would face the full wrath of law.

He was quoted as saying that, “these things are abnormal and unlawful. It does not portray one as a good ambassador of the State and the Union”

“It is an obvious fact that the union is more like an intermediary between the government and the commercial riders. Hence, what should be sold to them (okada riders) are the tickets issued by the government, not the ones printed by an individual”

Continuing he said “Recently, we discovered and exposed some people with the bad intent of dragging the name of our Union in the mud by printing and issuing fake tickets”

“We are not resting on our nerves. We are presently mapping out other ways of getting hold of these criminals. For self aggrandisement purpose, they sell fake tickets to the commercial riders and pocket whatever amount realised from it”

“They return the original tickets, in the guise that there’s no sales. We shall not accept this anymore. Our aim is to help the State government generate funds as our little form of contributing to the Building our future together agenda”

The Chairman further admonished members of the Union to be diligent as they embark on their weekly activities. He also urged the ‘okada riders’ to drive carefully and prayed that ‘Almighty God would meet them at the point of their needs as they go all out in search of their daily meals’.
