Eid-El-Fitri: Ogun Dep. Gov. Felicitates With Muslims, Sues For Peace

SANGO–Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has felicitated with Muslims faithfuls as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-fitri, urging them to continue to pray for the peace of the nation, especially now that insurgency, banditry and kidnapping is ravaging the country.

Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, stated this when she joined other Muslims to pray and give thanks to Almighty Allah for making this year’s celebration possible at Nuwarudeeen Primary School, Ota.

The Deputy Governor who noted that the prayers of Muslims faithfuls who have denied themselves during the period of fast, would go a long way in restoring normalcy to the country, also implored them to remember to observe all prescribed Covid-19 protocols particularly with a report of a new strain corona virus in some parts of the world.

While extending Governor Dapo Abiodun’s greetings to Muslims in Ota and the State in general, she prayed that Almighty Allah will spear everyone’s life to witness another celebration.

“We should all show gratitude to God for counting us worthy this year because we could not gather like this last year as a result of the lockdown occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic.

“I cannot but reiterate here that Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration remains committed to fulfilling his electioneering promises, some of which are evident all over the state, to includes; infrastructural development, improving the health and education sector, Agricultural development, youths empowerments, amongst others”

In his remarks, the Olota of Ota, His Royal Highness, HRN, Oba (Prof) Abdulkabir Obalanlege Olota told Muslims to always reflect on the doctrines of Islam and shun any act that would tarnish their image as muslims, urging them to also embrace peace, Love and unity.

In his sermon, the Cleric and Chief Imam of Ota, Sheik Sadiku Buhari, also charged muslim faithfuls to shun all acts that contradicts the teaching of the prophet, admonishing them to only strive towards uprightness as indicated in the Holy Quran, saying only this was expected of them as true Muslims.
