ABUJA– The Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, HRM Oba Lukman Adeleke Kuoye fcim has been emerged as a peace ambassador of Nigeria.
The monarch was decorated amongst other eminent Nigerians at the event held in Abuja, for his selfless contribution to humanity, advocating for peace in his domain and touching the life of vulnerable in the society.
Represented by Barr. Adeola Novell, Oba Kuoye appreciated the organisers of the award, while promising to continue to use his position to preach peace, unity and harmony amongst Nigerians.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the organisers of this award for deeming me fit for this prestigious award and conferment of the Honorary Achievers Award, thus making me a peace ambassador of Nigeria.
“The role of the traditional institution in fostering peaceful habitation between the Indigenes and non-indigenes cannot be overemphasized.
“It is therefore a primary responsibility of a monarch, which I am one, to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in my domain. Just like the introduction of this event stated, that “building peace is crucial for achieving long-term economic transformation in any society. It provides a stable and secure environment that fosters economic growth, investments, and promotes social development”.
“If we must see the Nigeria of our dreams in all spheres of our endeavor, then our role at promoting peace and peaceful co-existence becomes sacrosanct.
“So, this event becomes apt at this stage in our national developmental stage. We have endures turbulence stages which has shaken the foundation of the country but the pursuit of peace and unity of our forebears have held the country together.
“The baton of promoting the ideals of unity have therefore fallen on all of us, the responsibility to make sure Nigeria survive another 63 years and beyond lies on us all and we must be ready to wear the garment of peace without fear or let.
“Having been inaugurated today, I promise to double my effort at promoting peace in my domain, locality and beyond. This is the only prerequisites for national developmental that we all looked forward to.
“We must be ready to shun violence, vices capable to disuniting us as a one indivisible country. A country full of potentials and resources which can only attain it’s full blossomness in unity and peace atmosphere.
“We must know that Peace in our nation, and our states is not negotiable, afterall one of the only books astutely ascribe that we should follow peace with all men, for without peace we cannot please the almighty”, Oba Kuoye said
