ABEOKUTA– The Ogun State Police Command on Friday arrested a man, Mukaila Akinwande for parading himself as the Oluwo of Ijejaland, a town in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
The arrest was sequel to the violation of a court order issued at Isabo High Court, refraining him from parading himself as the Oluwo of the town.
Recalled that on August 10, 2021, the Ogun State High Court under Judge Ogunfowora ordered Mukaila Akinwande to refrain from identifying himself as the Oluwo of the town, until the case is resolved.
The News Ville gathered that as soon as the court issued the order, Mukaila Akinwande was said to have removed the Oluwo’s photograph in front of his house, but it was not long before he returned the photo.
“We have since heard that people have started warning him not to stop using things that could lead to him being called the citizen of the city, in order not to harm himself by violating the court order.
“We also heard that Mukaila’s red KIA jeep car was attached to Oluwo’s portrait, and that wherever he arrived he was posing as the Oluwo”, a source said
However, things went sour when Mukaila was picked up by the police from Ibara, an embarrassing sight without shoes and clothes on.
He has since been released on administrative bail, with an undertaking that he would desist from referring himself as the Oluwo of Ijejaland until the determination of the matter before the high court.
