Betta Edu Congratulates Nigeria At 66, Says Tinubu Reforms Opening Economic Opportunities For Women

CALABAR— The Director of Women Mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr. Betta Edu, has stated that the economic reforms initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are paving the way for unprecedented economic opportunities for women at the grassroots level.

In a statement released to commemorate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, Edu extended her warmest congratulations to Nigerians across the nation and in the diaspora, highlighting the significance of the country’s journey as a sovereign state.

The campaign leader urged women nationwide to actively identify and capitalize on the various government interventions, social programs, and economic channels designed to empower households.

Edu emphasized that her directorate is set to roll out an aggressive, door-to-door sensitization campaign across various local communities to ensure that vital information regarding federal opportunities reaches every household directly.

Reflecting on the nation’s milestone anniversary, Edu noted that the occasion serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring vision, courage, and sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers and heroines.

She stressed that the hard-won independence secured by the country’s past heroes laid the essential foundation for democratic governance, national sovereignty, and collective growth.

According to the APC chieftain, the present administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” is actively creating expansive economic channels across key critical sectors, including agriculture, enterprise development, and renewable energy.

She added that these systemic economic shifts are also driving progress across public infrastructure, structured skills development initiatives, and target-driven social investment programs aimed at uplifting citizens.

However, Edu pointed out that the true impact of these governmental reforms can only be fully realized when citizens at the grassroots level are aware of the programs, understand the eligibility criteria, and know how to contact responsible delivery agencies.

She reiterated the moral obligation of current leaders to protect and expand upon the legacy left behind by the nation’s foundational leaders through continuous effort and dedication to national progress.

”Our founding fathers and heroines gave us the foundation on which we continue to build,” Edu noted in her independence message, adding that their vision places a collective duty on every generation to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

”President Tinubu’s reforms are creating new pathways for economic participation,” she explained, asserting that the primary responsibility of her directorate is to bridge the information gap between the government and local communities.

She stated that beyond providing information, the grassroots structures within her directorate will be actively deployed to build support and advocate for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.

Furthermore, Edu called on all Nigerians to embrace national unity, foster peaceful coexistence, and rededicate themselves to building a nation that aligns with the founding vision of its heroes.

Concluding her message, she expressed optimism about the future of the country, assuring women that the current administration remains deeply committed to inclusive development and grassroots empowerment.
