Pastor Achudume Fetes Penpushing Media Founder To Birthday Bash, Harps On Need To Curb Fake News

ABEOKUTA– The Senior Pastor of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume on Sunday hosted the Founder of Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji to a surprise birthday bash at the church headquarters, Ajebo road, Abeokuta.

Speaking at the ceremony, Apostle Achudume described Journalism as the oldest profession that brings sanity, correction and discipline to any nation, adding that there are many fake news everywhere now and there should be a law to curb these acts.

“Journalism is one of the oldest profession that I have seen to bring sanity, correction and discipline to any nation.

“I think there are many fake news, I don’t know how to control it but there are so many fake news, that’s why I even like Penpushing, when there is a fake news on Penpushing, the response, the quick response of Dimeji.

“I have to confirm many news stories from the Penpushing platform.
There are so many fake news everywhere, I think the profession needs to be more managed, to control those who come into the profession , so they won’t become a jack of all trade.

“They are ready to bring in more discipline and control into the profession. By bringing laws into the profession, not everybody who is hungry or who is jobless, that’s a journalist so that he can make money.

“And we can still do that in Nigeria, if we can control the fake news stuff. There are so many fake news that sometimes you wonder what to believe” he stressed

Speaking on the reasons for honoring founder of Penpushing media, Apostle Achudume said he is a friend and committed journalist

“Apart from the fact I have known Dimeji for many years, I see him to be forthright, disciplined and committed to the profession of journalism.

“He has been an uncompromising journalist, he says it the way he says it. Have not seen him to be a corrupted person in terms of his profession and he can’t be brought over.

“And have watched him for many years even before he began Penpushing, and I have seen made Penpushing to be, the values he holds as regards the profession, and the sanctity and sanity of our nation Nigeria.So I thought such a man should be honored and be celebrated” he added

In their separate remarks, the former Director General, Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Chief Eddy Aina , Permanent Secretary in Ogun state civil service, Kehinde Onasanya, Ogun state Former Head of service, Elder Sola Adeyemi, General Manager, Ogun state Broadcasting Cooperation (OGBC), Mrs Toyin Sogbesan, Ogun Sector Commandant (FRSC), Hammed Umar and Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yemisi Fadairo described him as a man who is focus and positive

“He is a restless journalist, when he wants to achieve something he will make sure he achieve it. His idea of Penpushing serves as directory to many of us. How he relates with those in powers and have good relationships with them is overwhelming “

In his toast, the National President, Freelance Independent Broadcasters Associationof Nigeria (FIBAN), Comrade Desmond Nwachukwu described Kayode-Adedeji as a complete gentle man who always call for the progress of all, not only in journalism also in broadcasting.

“The strong pillar to the establishment of College of broadcasting, Abeokuta. A man who is always willing to help with any contact at his disposal”, Nwachukwu said

In his vote of thanks, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji specially thank Apostle Achudume for accepting him with his short comings and said the gesture is what he will define as adding value to his lifestyle, while thanking everyone for their love and honore done on him.
