ILARO– Traditional rulers in Yewaland, led by the Paramount Ruler, His Majesty Oba (Dr.) ESV Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, Mfr, received the official visit of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Custom Service, Adewale Adeniyi at his private palace on Sunday.
Oba Olugbenle while welcoming the CG, charges him to look into the welfare of the rank and file of the service, while urging him to build a robust interpersonal relationship with the residents of the border communities.
He further admonished the CG to change the perspection of the residents of border communities about the men of NCS while discharging their official duties.
” I will like to implore you to do everything humanly possible within the career ethics of your job to improve the wellbeing of your officers and to also build better and robust interpersonal relationships with the residents of the border communities.
“You need to also let the President know that the roads leading to the border towns are nothing to write home about. Which means, it needs improvement”, he added
In his response, the CG inform the traditional rulers that he is already working assiduously with his team to commence a training and retraining of his officers on proper handling of rifles.
He also intimated the traditional rulers that he has warned his men to stop using unofficial vehicles during operations, and to also stop the use of masks, turbans while on operations but to make their name tag to be bold and visible for anyone to read.
Meanwhile, the Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, HRM Oba Lukmon Adeleke Kuoye while thanking the CG and his team for the visit, stated that transit goods should also be allowed at the Ogun State borders instead of Seme border only.
The CG was joined by his Management team, which include but not limited to Comptroller Makinde, Ogun State Command, Comptroller Ejibunu, FOU, Zone A, Lagos et’al.
In the entourage of the Oba Kehinde Olugbenle includes, the Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, Oloja Oja-Odan Yewa, Chief Akeem Adigun, Apagunpote of Yewaland and Alhaji Ibrahim Deinde Egungbohun, the Oluomo of Yewaland.
