SAGAMU– The member representing Ikenne-Sagamu and Remo North federal constituency, Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, has flagged off the construction of Oko-Ada road in Makun, Sagamu area of Ogun state.
Onanuga, who is also the Deputy Chief Whip, said the construction of the first phase of the 22km road, linking Sagamu, Simawa to the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway is expected to completed in 3months.
Speaking with newsmen at the flag-off, Onanuga noted the road which is of enormous economic importance, will on completion revive the economic viability of the rural dwellers
“Along the road on both sides, there are Agrarian communities so when they go to the farm and harvest, they don’t have good road to bring their harvest to the market and most of their produce are perishable items.
“But, with this road, there would be more income and all this we are hungry, will at least reduced.
“It is a 22 kilometer road and it’s not a road that can be done in one phase so we are going to do it in phases, as much as we have we would put it in the road.
“We want to believe that we would be able to do a considerable length because the senator is also starting from the other end of the road and we are hoping that we would meet halfway”, she added.
The Director of the Construction company, Gedion Osy, said the road features will include drainages and bumps to prevent over speeding, while assuring on timely completion of the road.
