ABEOKUTA– The Ogun state police command has felicitated with the muslim faithfuls across the state on the occasion of this year Eid-Fitr celebration which marks the end of Ramadan fasting, adding that it will provide maximum security during and after the celebration.
The command through its public relations officer DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said that the commissioner of police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the deployment of large number of policemen consisting of the command’s tactical teams which include SARS, Anti kidnapping units, Anti cultists unit, Bomb disposal unit as well as other conventional policemen across the state to nip in the bud any act of criminality that might want to rear its ugly head before, during and after the Salah celebration.
Oyeyemi further stated that the command also wishes to appeal to the good people of the state to keep on observing the social physical distancing and other safety methodologies that will prevent the spreading of covid-19 pandemic.
“The command hereby enjoined Muslims faithful to reflect on the reasons for the Ramadan fasting and be good ambassadors of Islam by maintaining peace all the time”
“The command while congratulating the Muslims on the successful completion of 30 days fasting, also wishes to use this medium to remind all and sundry that the ban on social and religious gatherings is still in force and it should be strictly adhered to” Oyeyemi said
