IJEBU– A Non-Governmental organisation, Ar-Rahmah Zakaat Foundation has distributed food stuff worth ₦5000 each to residents of Ogun East senatorial district as part of its support to cushion the effect of the dreaded Coronavirus in the State.
Distributing the food stuff to residents from Ijebu Ode, Ago Iwoye, Ijebu Igbo, Atan, Ijebu Imushin, Ilese and it’s other environs, the Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Lekan Yusuf said that the organisation decide to carry out the exercise to further assist the less privileged in the society at this trying time.

According to Alhaji Lekan Yusuf, ” we started the distribution to about 156 persons in the first batch, while we concluded the second batch to about 356 persons”
“The food stuff packaged for each person is worth about ₦5000 and we intend to do more, given the opportunity”

The Admin Secretary Mrs. Ashiat Adesanya, while appreciating donors who contributed cash towards the outreach stated that the foundation is appealing to other well meaning people in the society to join in helping the needy, adding that the effect of covid-19 has made several people more vulnerable than expected.

“We call on well spirited individuals in the society to partner with us so as to bring more succour to the less privileged in our communities as the effects of covid-19 is grave amongst us” she said
One of the beneficiaries identified simply as Mrs Kabirat appreciates the foundation gesture at ameliorating their sufferings, adding that the food stuff will go along way to feed her family.

“May Almighty God continue to bless the initiator of this foundation, and for remembering us at this point in time, God will always remember them also. We are very grateful” she concludes
The organisation also concluded it’s outreach at the SOS Orphanage Owu Ikija and Eruobodo orphanage GRA Ijebu Ode where several Palliatives were distributed to the homes.
