ABEOKUTA– The immediate past Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ogun State Chapter has reteraited that the state Congress conducted by the party today is in obedience to the court order allegedly gotten by his arch rival, Sen. Buruji Kashamu.
Engr. Bayo Dayo stated this today while fielding questions from newsmen at the State Congress held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.
The former chairman stated that, “today as I have told many months ago that my tenure expires in May, but because of the lockdown we couldn’t have this congress, and the National headquarters of our party has made a time table for the congress not only in Ogun state but through out Nigeria”
“Therefore, I am mandated by the Abuja headquarters that today I should make a proper handing over to the incoming executives of PDP in Ogun state”
“You know we have judgment couple of daya ago, where by it is stated that only the congress that is organized by the Adebayo Dayo led executive is legal in Ogun state”
“I am Adebayo Dayo, I am using the power given to me by the judgement in suit number LAC6362016, that is the judgement that empowers me and my executives to be in the office up to the the time of this congress, and to handover the result sheet of this congress to the headquarters in Abuja, and that is what am doing here today”
He further explained that there is no faction in the party, adding that all the aggrieved members that left the party are all back to the fold in order to form a common force.
“There is no other side in PDP, we have many groups in PDP, all I have been trying to do in the last 2years is to make sure we come together, and today we have make peacef by having a genuine reconciliation and you can see that.
“You see people, you see them very happy, because now they know, we have a very bright future, and I I can tell you, there is groups anymore in PDP. We are all come together to stay under one umbrella.
“If you look around, you will see representative of south west PDP, representative of the National headquarters of the PDP, they are with us here, and when this thing is concluded am going to hand it over to the National headquarters through their representative that are here”
“It is only then that I have concluded my assignment and it is only then, that I am truly detached from the office. We will do the proper handing over to the executive that emerged today.
“That is the time the Adebayo Dayo led executive has completed his job” he concludes
