ABEOKUTA– The Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, Oba Lukman Olalekan Kuoye, Ph.D has congratulated Prince Akeem Owoade on his emergence as the new Alaafin of Oyo.
Prince Owoade was announced as the new Alaafin by the Oyo State Government, in a statement credited to the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, adding that “after thorough consultations and divinations, Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade has been recommended by the Oyomesi and approved by the Governor of Oyo State”.
Oba Kuoye in a statement made available to newsmen by his media aide, Hakeem Adegbenro stated that Imasayi Kingdom being a direct descendants of the 7th Alaafin of Oyo called Oluaso, is excited on the emergence of Prince Akeem Owoade to continue in the stead of his forebears.
“In view of the above, I want to congratulate the newly selected Alaafin of Oyo, which has been confirmed by the Oyo State Government through the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government & Culture”, the statement further reads.
The Ogun state monarch therefore call for total support for the new Alaafin, praying that his ascension will bring more development to the Oyo empire, Yoruba race and the Nation at large.
“The emergence of Prince Akeem Owoade has put to rest all the socio and legal bickerings that have ensued since the demise of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III on April 22, 2022.
” Therefore, this is the time to rally round the new Alaafin, to ensure his successful reign for the betterment of Oyo empire, the Yoruba race and the entire Nation.
“I however pray for more wisdom, guidance as he ascend the throne of his forefathers. May your reign bring more peace and development, Kabiyesi”, the statement reads
Prince Akeem Owoade is a Nigerian and Canadian entrepreneur, philanthropist, the president of 100279 Manitoba Limited, a real estate investment and financial services business in Manitoba, Canada.
Born 47 years ago to a prominent and royal family of Owoade-Agunloye in Oyo town, Prince Akeem Owoade is one of the surviving children of Pa Rasaki Ibiyosi Owoade, the descendant of Aremo Aderounmu Iyanda Owoade, Agure Compound, Oyo town in Oyo State, Nigeria.
