IKOM– The Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Hon. Pst. Mrs Mercy Nsor, has praised the efforts of the State Governor, Apostle Senator [Prince] Bassey Edet Otu over the approval of 500 Solar LED Street lights to be installed across the 11 Wards of Ikom LGA.
In a message signed by her Chief Press Secretary, Engr. Ntem Chris, the Chairman, expressed her delight in the illumination of the LGA, noting that it will improve the aesthetics and enhance the economy of the LGA.
She noted that, as a city recognized for its commercial activities and corridor to other parts of the States, the installation of these Solar LED Street lights is timely and will be well appreciated.
She promised the Governor the people’s support at all times and also ensured that all public infrastructures were well guarded and protected to avoid unnecessary destruction/damages.
In her words, “The good people of Ikom LGA are peace-loving and developmentally oriented; we desire to see our communities develop. I’m well assured that we will protect these street lights like every other public infrastructure within the LGA.
I want to thank the Governor for his magnanimity in approving 500 LED Street Lights to power our communities and ensure that the historic aesthetics of our land are well appreciated as well as to promote Trade and Commerce among our people”.
It is worthy of note that just over a fortnight ago, the Executive Chairman had received assurances from heads of Military and Paramilitary organizations for the protection of lives and properties, and with the installation of these lights, residents can now live, sleep, and go about their legitimate businesses from dusk till dawn without fear.
The administration of Hon. Mercy Nsor will continue to work in synergy with the visions and mandates of Governor Otu’s government as the People’s First Mantra of His Excellency remains a key priority to the Honorable Chairman.
