ABEOKUTA– The immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Ophthalmic Nurses Association (NONA), Ogun State Chapter, Mojisola Bankole, has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing from the prestigious Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.
Dr Bankole, a seasoned professional and practicing nurse at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta achieved this academic milestone on Thursday.
A woman of deep academic interests, she was also recently inducted as a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Nurses and Midwives—an elite professional recognition reserved for nursing leaders across the sub-region.
In her words of appreciation, Dr Bankole expressed heartfelt gratitude to her husband and family, crediting her professional success and academic success to their unwavering support.
Known for her impactful leadership during her two terms as Chairperson of NONA in Ogun State, Dr Bankole spearheaded numerous capacity-building programs, particularly in the area of leveraging technology for improving eyecare.
“This achievement is not just for me, but for every nurse who believes in the power of knowledge, compassion, and resilience. I urge all healthcare professionals to remain dedicated to duty and committed to excellence. Our patients deserve nothing less.”
She is married to Dr Emmanuel Bankole, the immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ogun State Chapter, who himself also recently bagged a PhD.
