ABEOKUTA– Ahead of the 2022 sports festival billed for Delta State, the Ogun state government has inaugurated chairmen and members of the state sports associatons, Wednesday.
Speaking at the inauguration held at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, the General Manager of the state sports council, Iyabo Rotimi noted that the inauguration is part of the effort to express government commitments to the development of sports in the state.
She added that, “sports is life, it is not a hidden fact that sports, not only to entertain, improves the mental and health living but also promotes the economic standard of the state.
“It is my belief that the inauguration will edify sports more in Ogun state, and also help the associations in improving the standard of the sports”.
In his remarks, the chairman of the State Handball Association, Bamidele Adesanya enjoined members of the associations to see their appointments as a recognition, and a call to duty to serve the state
He therefore urge members to take the assignment with all seriousness, adding that with co-operation, the enviable position of sports in the state would improve.
Meanwhile, blueprint correspondent in the state, Hakeem Adegbenro was also inaugurated into the State Handball Association as it’s media officer.
