ABEOKUTA– The Orile Imo council of chiefs and Baales in Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State have appeal to community leaders in the town to allow peace to reign in the community by allowing the preferred choice of the people ascend to the vacant throne of Olu of Orile Imo.
According to their spokesperson, the chiefs observed that the controversy surrounding the nomination of the new monarch for the town was a needles one
The chiefs made this appeal at the Ake palace during their condolence visit to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo on the Gruesome Murder of Olu of Agodo, Oba Ayinde Odetola who was also an Imo indigene
” it is not arguable that the choice of Oba Sogaolu as the Olu of Orile Imo would ursher in unprecedented development development to Orile Imo in particular and Egbaland in General.
In his Response, the Alake of Egbaland thanked them for the visit and urged them to remain calm and be prayerful that that the culprits are brought to book.
“Your town is blessed with great men and women, and such people should be mobilized for the common good of the society ‘ Alake said
He reeled out some of his philanthropic activities in the place that will make him the proud choice of his people as their monarch.
Oba Reuben oluwambe Sogaolu, in his sixties attended St pauls primary school Orile Imo before he gained admission in to the famous Abeokuta grammar school in Abeokuta. He had his tertiary education at the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
He worked briefly with Obafemi Owode local government council before he joined Chevron, an oil exploration giant.
A great philanthropist, he has his benevolent hand in most of the villages in the community and a major contributor to the building of a magnificent palace for the community.
The chiefs and Baales later visited the family of the deceased monarch
