Iyalode Alaba Lawson Mourns Former ING Chair, Shonekan

ABEOKUTA— The Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson has mourned the death of the former chairman of the Interim National Government (ING), Chief Ernest Shonekan, describing his passing as a collosal loss to the nation.

She further reteraited that Chief Shonekan has left his footprints and name on the roll call of honours, who was full of wisdom and strength.

In a condolence message addressed to the family, a copy made available to The News Ville, Iyalode said the death of the Egba High Chief and quiet philanthropist was received with heavy heart.

“It is with heavy hearts I received the news of the passing away into eternal glory of His Excellency, High Chief Ernest Adegunle Shonekan GCFR, a thorough bred Egba son. A great disciplinarian and quiet philanthropist who had touched so many lives positively.
