ABEOKUTA— The Institute of Directors (IoD), Ogun State Chapter on Thursday hosts it’s members to end of the year celebration at its corporate headquarters in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The Ogun state chapter also coordinates the South West affairs of the institute.
Welcoming members to the relax ceremony, the State chairperson of the institute, Chief Alaba Lawson thank God on behalf of members for a fulfilling year, adding that the membership drive of the institute should be geared up in 2022.
The Iyalode of Yorubaland also called on members to see themselves as mentors to youths, adding that the call for young directors and leaders is now.
She stated that the IoD is committed to build the capacity of directors to be competent and committed professionals through well developed programmes, mentoring schemes, sound ethical practices and enrich public policy through advocacy.
She added that it has a vision to be a leading world class professional institute that is promoting best corporate governance practices, director development and advocacy.
Also speaking, Gbenga Adeoye, who was unanimously appointed chairman committee on Secretariat, lauded the chairman on how she has piloted the affairs of the institute, calling on other members to support her efforts.
He therefore called on the citizens to be involved in governance, saying that people should be stakeholders in the determination of who governs the country.
Sir. Jaye Oyetola, the President of Abeokuta chamber of commerce, called for synergy between the public and private corporations in the fight against corruption and the development of the country, saying that one cannot be faulted for the other in the development strata.
Members present at the event includes, Balogun Akorede, the Director Government Account, Office of the Statet Auditor General, Alh. Wasiu Olaleye, President OGUNCIMA, his Vice, Bada Olatunji, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, Founder, Penpushing Media and Mrs. Toyin Sogbesan GM, OGBC.
Others includes, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, Chairman, SUBEB, Akinola Lawson, the Director, Lawson Group of Schools, his wife, Yinka Lawson, Anifat Ore Sulaiman, Lawyer and Contact Center Manager, Chathub Nigeria Limited.
Members were thereafter hosted to sumptuous meals and drinks courtesy of the State Chairman, Chief Iyalode Alaba Lawson.
