ABEOKUTA–The Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, HRM Oba Lukman Adeleke Kuoye has lauded the IBD Foundation empowerment programme targeted at about five thousand beneficiaries.
The empowerment programme which is part of the activities marking the 42nd birthday celebration of IBD Foundation Co-Founder, Omolara Dende Egungbohun was also attended by Minister of State for Environment, Hon. Isiak Salako, ably represented by Hon. Tunde Okewole.
Other dignitaries at the event includes a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Wahab Abiodun Egungbohun, representing Yewa North (I I) Ketu State Constituency, HRM, Oba Ololade Makinde (Oniwoye of Iwoye Kingdom) and HRM Oba Oyebanji Adetunji Oladapo (Oloja of Oja-Odan).
The empowerment courses were streamlined into photography/cinematography, Wig making, Cake Making, Adire Making, Cocktail, Digital marketing, Soap Making, Lashes Extension, Make Up amongst others held at NOUN University Ilaro Study center.
In her remarks, the celebrant, Omolara Dende explained that she thought of doing something differently to celebrate her this year birthday, therefore several instructors were contacted to come for training class for all participants who registered for the empowerment programme.
She had took to her verified Facebook page to announced that the program does not involve distribution of money or gifts. Instead, it aims at providing knowledge and training on skills to help individuals succeed in their chosen fields and contribute to the development of the community.

The two days workshop also featured experts and instructors in different courses focusing on how young men and women can create sustainable businesses and become job creators.
On their parts, the representative of the minister, Hon. Okelewo and Ogun lawmaker, Hon. Wahab Abiodun Egungbohun who equally appreciate the organizers expressed optimism that the program would help to take youths off the street through vocational education.
Mrs Olubayo, one of the beneficiaries commended the organizer said “I am excited that this type of programme was organised and I must say that I am fortunate to be part of the programme.”
