SANGO– The House of Representatives member representing Ado-Odo/Ota federal constituency, Engr Tunji Akinosi, on Tuesday, engaged with his constituents at a stakeholders meeting held, on Tuesday in Ota area of Ogun state.
Engr. Akinosi stated that he has been able to facilitate the construction of roads and renovation of schools, provision of financial grants ranging from N50,000 to N100,000 to over 2000 people, and empowerment of another 2000 with various trading tools, among others.
He added that several bills sponsored by himself are at various stages of implementation, which includes a bill to establish the Federal Medical Center, Atan Ota, which has passed the third reading.
“A bill to establish the Federal University of Technology, Atan Ota at the second reading stage, and a bill to create the Tertiary Hospital Development Tax Fund.
” A bill co-sponsored to establish the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board, and the Provision for the establishment of the Agriculture and Rural Management Training Institute, Ado Odo, amongst others”, he added
The lawmaker however acknowledged the deplorable states of roads in his constituency, which according to him is about 80% Federal government owned, he therefore called on the Federal Government to to address the worrying challenge of infrastructural deficit.
Meanwhile, the Olota of Otta kingdom, Oba Abdulkadir Obalanlege, who lauded the initiative of the lawmaker engagement, however urged other political office holders to pursue service above self for a better nation.
Panelists, who spoke on the theme, “Expectations From Our Representatives”, includes, Barr Kelubia Ajose, the Chairman of Nigeria Bar Association, Ota branch, and a psychologist and former Student Union leader of the University of Ibadan, Dr Tokunbo Salako, among others
