IKOM– The Executive Chairman of Ikom LGA, Hon. Pst. [Mrs] Mercy Nsor, has today inaugurated Supervisors and other Executive Members of the Ikom Local Government Council.
The event which was held at the Council Secretariat was witnessed by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Maurice Ndome, the Eleven Ward Councillors and her Leadership, Special Assistants, Appointees, Council Directors, Staff, Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders, and other Critical Party Stakeholders in Ikom.
The Chairman during the event handed over her Administrative Templates and Guidelines to the new Supervisors for proper Conduct and Execution.
“This momentous occasion signifies a new chapter in our collective journey toward the Progress, Growth, Welfare, and Development of Ikom LGA. As we gather here today, I am filled with optimism and enthusiasm for the great things we will achieve together”. The Executive Chairman reiterated.
Hon. Mercy Nsor went further to charge the newly inaugurated Executive Council Members to show a deep sense of responsibility whilst also bringing their wealth of experience to serve passionately for the advancement of the Local Government.
In her words of congratulations and charge of duty, the Council Boss stated; “To our Newly Appointed Supervisors, all my Special Assistants, and other Appointees, I extend my warmest Congratulations.
“Your Appointment is a testament to your Exceptional Leadership Qualities, Expertise, and Dedication to serving our people. I have every confidence that you will Excel in your roles and make meaningful contributions to our Local Government Area”.
“As Supervisors, you will play a very vital role in shaping the future of Ikom LGA. Your responsibilities will be diverse, ranging from Policy Formulation to Implementation, and from Community Engagements to Resource Management.
“I therefore, charge you to approach your duties with Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability with a focus on major key areas like Community Development, where you will work closely with your people to identify and address pressing needs in your various communities.”
She listed her Administration’s Cardinal Points of Development and encouraged them all to key into her Visions and Blueprint for the New Ikom Local Government Area.
“Infrastructural Development is another area where you need to oversee the Planning and Execution of Projects that enhance our Infrastructure and promote Economic Growth. Under Social Welfare, we will ensure that our Social Services are Accessible, Efficient, and Effective in meeting the needs of our citizens.
“As you begin your tenure, may I remind you that your success will be measured by the positive impact you make on the lives of our people. I encourage you to foster Collaboration, Innovation, and Inclusivity in all your endeavors.
“To the good people of Ikom LGA, I assure you that this Administration remains committed to delivering on our Campaign Promises. We will work tirelessly to create opportunities, improve services, and enhance the overall well-being of our community.
“I therefore urge our Newly Appointed Supervisors to embrace this noble challenge with Passion, Commitment, and a deep sense of Responsibility. Together, we will build a brighter future for Ikom Local Government Area”.
The event ended with the Inaugurated Supervisors taking their Oath of Office and a Vote of thanks from the Secretary of Council, Hon. Edo Owan, who thanked the Miracle Chairman for finding them worthy to serve in her Administration while assuring the Chairman of a smooth working relationship and synergy.
He applauded the State Governor, Sen. [Prince] Bassey Edet Otu and his dear wife, Rev. Eyoanwan Otu for leaving Ikom LGA in the best hands.
