Abeokuta Golf Club To Host 2nd Kings Cup October 9.

ABEOKUTA– The Abeokuta Golf Club is set to host the 2nd Kings Cup aimed at uniting the four kingdoms in Egbaland, in Ogun State.

The event slated for the 8-10 October, 2021 at the Abeokuta Golf course, Oke Mosan Abeokuta is billed to attract no fewer than 150 golfers across the country and beyond
Speaking at the press conference to herald the competition, the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Chairman, TPL Wale Adeogun confirmed that the four kingdoms that make up Egbaland are ready to do battle for honours.

Adeogun said the inaugural edition of the King’s Cup was well accepted, adding that it united the sons and daughters of Egbaland.

“Of course, the King’s Cup has really united the people of Egbaland. We should not forget the fact that kingdoms are taking part in the competition and it always brings people of Egbaland together to support the kingdoms they belong to. I think this year’s edition would be better because four kingdoms are taking part in the competition,” he said.

He added that the kingdoms involved are the defending champions, Owu, Ake, Gbagura and Osile.

Adeogun also disclosed that during the one day event, COVID-19 health protocols would be strictly observed by the participants, as medical teams would be on ground during the game.

The 150 golfers, male and female are expected to arrive on the 8th October, competition proper holds on 9th October and departure 10th October.
