ABEOKUTA– The National President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Mrs Ifeyinwa Omowole have charged members of the association to forge a United front and be their sister’s keeper.
The National President gave the charge during a condolence visit to the immediate past chairperson of Ogun Ogun State Chapter, Mrs Remi Adebiyi who recently lost her husband.
Describing the deceased as a man who supported his wife wholeheartedly during her tenure as the chairperson, Mrs Omowole enjoined members to rally round her and give necessary support especially at this period.
The National president who was accompanied by the Vice President, B zone, Mrs Morenike Tony- Esan as well as Southwest States’ Chairpersons and Secretaries encouraged Mrs Adebiyi to take solace in the fact that her husband lived a worthy life.
Responding on behalf of the family, the first daughter of the deceased, Mrs Adeola Bamigbade thanked members of the Association for identifying with the family in their grief.
Reacting to the inauguration of new NAWOJ Executives in Ogun state, the National president urged aggrieved members to set aside their grievances and return to the fold, adding that they cannot make any contributions or impact in NAWOJ when outside the fold.
