The Junior Chambers International (JCI), RockCity Chapter has donated gifts to new born babies in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital as part of it’s activities to herald the new year.
The programme which was tagged ” Baby of Impact Project” was carried out at Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba and Ogun State Hospital, Ijaiye.
The organisation donated products ranging from Diapers, Detergents, Disinfectant, Beverages, Shole, Babies wears, Towels, Baby Walker, Baby Hanger, Sanitary Pad, Bottle Water, Baby Toys, Baby Wrapper, Baby Shoes and Cash gift to the two babies who were born at the same time at FMC.
Speaking after the donation, JCIN Amb Ayodeji Oliver Ajayi said the gesture was to share love and spread the happiness of the season to the babies and their families.
He added that the special programme was the 7th edition and also in alignment with the global sustainable development goals 3 of United Nations.
“This is the 7th edition and it is in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goal 3. JCI-Rockcity went out in search of the First baby of the year and found two at the FMC”.
“The Two babies were born by different parents at the same time so we had to present all the gifts and cash to both families of Mr and Mrs Akingbogun who delivered to a Baby Girl and Mr and Mrs Agbolade, a Baby Boy”. He said
Also in attendance in the JCI entourage are JCIN Amb Esther Bamisebi, National Vice President JCIN Amb. Sanni Babatunde – National Director Of Communication and the entire members of JCI-Rockcity.
The two families and the management of the hospital appreciated the the kind gesture from JCI and urged other groups to follow suit.
