ABEOKUTA– The Patron to the Young Media Practitioners of Nigeria (YOMPON), and Asiwaju of Orile Imo, High Chief Olamilekan Olakunle on Thursday celebrates his 55th birthday with verious empowerment program for his community.
The birthday empowerment program which includes the donation of a mini jeep to the council of Baales, Sewing machines, hair dryers and cheque of N50,000 each to various business owners, also coincidence with the grand opening of Laleck Hotel and Suites and a mosque donated by Asiwaju to the Orile-Imo community.

Speaking to Journalists at the event Asiwaju said “I am elated. What God has done for me, I cannot explain it. God has been very good to me. He brought me from nobody to somebody and that’s why I am celebrating to show gratitude to Him.
“I want to advise individuals to also emulate this by giving back to their society. If you have all it takes, contribute to the developmental of your society and your people will be happy with you.
One of the beneficiary of the empowerment, Mrs Ariowoola Modupe lauded the initiative, saying that the kind gesture will go a long way to uplift her business and cater for her dependents.
“I want to appreciate your sacrifices and help at this time. This money will be plunged back into my business and I can assure you that those under me will feel the impact of the generosity”, she added.

Asiwaju Olamilekan is a recipient of many awards which includes the Patrons of Young Media Practitioners Of Nigeria (YOMPON), South-West Youth Assembly Of Nigeria, (SYAN), amongst others.
