ABEOKUTA– As part of activities marking the year 2022 Workers Day, Unions in Ogun State under the aegis of Joint Negotiating Council JNC have donated food items and toiletries to the Stella Obasanjo Motherless Babies Home in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The guesture, according to the union of part of the core values of reaching out the vulnerable and less privilege in the society, which the union apart from advocacy is known for.
Speaking with newsmen after the donation, the Chairman of the State Joint Negotiating Council (JNC),
Comrade Isa Olude, explained that, the gesture was necessary in order to show love and give hope to the children of the Home.

He added that the donation was to lift up the spirit of the children and also make them to feel sense of belonging in the society.
He assured that the civil servants in the State would continue to extend hands of kindness to the wards at the home.
“We are here today in the spirit of May Day to show love, and reassure the kids at this Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home that, when there is life there is hope. We want them to feel sense of belonging, we want them to know they are part of our society”.
“We are here to donate food items and toiletries, it is a way of telling them that, we care for them irrespective of their situation and we will continue to do this”, Olude said
The Chairman, however, implore well meaning Nigerians, politicians and other concerned stakeholders to see vulnerable children, and the less privilege as critical part of the nation’s economy; whose future must be protected.
He said this can only be achieved, when everyone rally around them, to give them sense of belonging, through regular encouragement, and constant donations to look after their wellbeing.
Elated by the gesture, the management of the home, thanked the donors and prayed that God would continue to bless them.
Prayers were also offered for the children, Ogun State and the Country at large.
