ABEOKUTA– The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ogun state chapter has started that the party lost nothing in the defection of its former deputy governorship candidate, Hon. Abdulkabir Akinlade.
Recall that Akinlade, who contested the 2023 general election with Ladi Adebutu resigned his membership of the party in a press release made available to The News Ville.
Meanwhile, in a swift response, the Publicity Secretary of the party, Otunba Arc. Kayode Adebayo described Akinlade as a “Judas whose aim is to sabotage a collective interest, rather than foster enduring relations and build a stronger front for all concerned”.
The statement further reads, “For us, it becomes imperative, as responsible political organization to, once and for all, set the records straight so that innocent members of public are not bamboozled into falling for the cries of a completely drowned mercenary.
“Ordinarily, the vituperations of an Akinlade, in this poorly worded litany, deserves no attention as he had since left our great party almost immediately he joined us in 2022.
” It would be recalled that this same character silently pitched his political tent with the ruling APC government against the party’s 2023 gubernatorial ticket by not actively involved in pre, during, and after electioneering campaigns and other activities of our great party.
“This is clearly evident in the results of the elections, even in his home local government area, Ipokia, despite the enormous resources, both human and materials, deployed for the elections directly under his immediate watch.
“Every man must be aware that In every association, there is always a Judas whose aim is to sabotage a collective interest, rather than foster enduring relations and build a stronger front for all concerned.
“It is, therefore, not surprising that Mr. Akinlade resigned from the PDP after several efforts launched, in diabolic company of a few dishonest and overrated individuals, against the party to create disintegration. A hatchet job he volunteered to take up in order to keep body and soul together after the unfortunate loss of our petitions in the court.
“Mind you, Akinlade’s resignation from the PDP, earlier today, is a culmination of his sustained efforts, in partnership with some internal and external forces to undermine the overwhelming wellbeing and genuine unity he met in the party from within. Pure and simple!
“We are, however, grateful to God Almighty, that he has eventually found the balls to formalize his unholy romance with the ruling APC. And for us, we have lost nothing, absolutely nothing, with is expected resignation from our great party.
“Before now, the public is abundantly aware that Akinlade’s political sojourn has always been laced with blemishes and perfidy, and his resignation from the PDP might be a harbinger of more drama to come from the unstable politician who has lost credibility in every known political circles in Ogun state.
“A post-mortem analysis carried out after the 2023 gubernatorial election presented the real political credentials of Mr. Akinlade as a distinguished liability who has no valuable grip in his local government and senatorial district. This is evident in the PDP’s abysmally loss to the ruling APC. The records still remain in the public domain. Akinlade’s cry of ill-treatment and structural exclusions by the party is a mere excuse of a robber caught pants down.
“We, therefore, urge anyone or/and other members of his thoroughly disgruntled camp to make haste in their political voyage to perdition. PDP is currently undergoing a period of renaissance that is expected to return the party to its original winning ways. This is a journey we can not afford to go with treacherous elements like an Akinlade and his ilks.
“Again, this is a development that had been in the pipeline long before today and we are excited to inform all loyal, disciplined and committed members of our great party across the 236 political wards of Ogun to remain calm, focused and united as the party has lost absolutely nothing.
“Again, PDP’s legitimate quests and principled stance to, work in strategic partnership, with the good people of Ogun State who have endured all manners of excruciating pains, callous irresponsibility and outright incompetence of the ruling APC government can not be stampeded by the laughable news of resignation of a known political mercenary”.
