ABEOKUTA– The Rotary International Club of Oke Ona Egba, District 9110 has donated 2 computer sets to the Muslim Model Primary School, Ago Oko, in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
The club in the same vein screened, and gave out eye glasses to about 100 beneficiaries in the community as part of the activities marking the annual District Governor visitation program.
Speaking with newsmen after the presentation, the District 9110 Governor, Rotarian Remi Bello stated that donation is in fulfilment of the 7 cardinal focus of the club, adding that it has also adopted the school for further educational upliftment.
In his words, “Rotary club of Oke Ona Egba is one of the 131 rotary clubs in our district, comparises clubs in Ogun and Lagos states.
“When DG visit clubs, it is only proper that the club shows the district governor the good works they are doing in their community, this is one of such.
“Muslim Model Primary School is a Schools within the community, and the club in furtherance of its service projects is donating the computer sets to the school.
This is a collaboration, this is partnership, this is community engagement to further solidify our presence in the community”, he added
Meanwhile, the President, Rotary club of Oke Ona Egba, Rotarian Bello Kehinde maintained that the guesture is to support the government in attaining sustainable education for all, adding that the government cannot do it alone
Kehinde further reteraites that the club is in the bid to adopt more schools in the community, adding that quality and quantitative education for the rural dwellers is his major priority.
He therefore called on other well meaning community leaders to join or support the club in order to fullfil it’s obligation to the community.
