Police Arrests Notorious Cultist In Ogun

ABEOKUTA– The Ogun State Police Command on the 20th of August, 2020 arrested wanted notorious cultist, Dare Ojugbele a.k.a stubborn at Itawaya area of Ilaro

The arrested was contain in a press release issued by the police Public Relations officer DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta.

According to the release, the DPO Ilaro CSP Olayemi Jacob was on routine patrol with his men along Idogo road and sighted the suspect who had been on the wanted list of the command for quite sometime on top of motorcycle. He was quickly intercepted and subsequently arrested.

Oyeyemi further started that a search was conducted on him on the spot and one locally made pistol, one live cartridge, one 7.65 mm live ammunition and assorted dangerous charms were recovered from him.

“The suspect has confessed been a member of the dreaded Eiye cult group and they were responsible for series of cult clashes within Ilaro and its environs” the statement reads

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspect to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation and prosecution.

The CP also warned that violent cult group will not allow to fester in the state under his watch. He called on any of the cult members who is willing to denounce his membership to come forward as such members will be given amnesty.
