Peace Returns To Ogun NUJ Correspondent Chapel, As Laide Raheem, Rasaq Ayinla Buries Hatchet

ABEOKUTA — The over two years lingering crisis that has put the Correspondent Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun state council into commatose has finally been put to rest.

Members at a special congress held today, at the Chapel secretariat, Nawarudeen in Abeokuta, the ogun state capital resolved to work with the Laide Raheem led exco to reposition the chapel, which according to them was once the bride of the state Union.

Speaking on the reconciliation move, Comrade Rasaq Ayinla, who was a factional chairman of the chapel, stated that he is willing to let go, while appealing to members to allow Laide Raheem take full charge of the chapel till the expiration of it’s tenure in August, 2023.

Members who had expressed their displeasure at the performance of the Laide Raheem led exco were however pacified not to dissolve the exco, while giving it a ‘second chance’ at rewriting it’s history.

The Chairman, Comrade Laide Raheem lauded the move of Comrade Rasaq Ayinla to allow his exco take charge of the exco. He therefore apologized on behalf of the exco, while promising a more vibrant performance.
