ABEOKUTA– The Ogun State Independence Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has issued certificate of return to all the 20 chairmen and vice chairmen elected at the just concluded local government election.
Recall that the All Progressive Congress (APC) had cleared all the 20 local government areas and 236 wards councillorship seats at the election held weekend in the state.
The Chairman of OGSIEC, Babatunde Osibodu in his remarks enjoined the Chairmen to see their victory as a wake up call to deliver on their promises.
Meanwhile, the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has commended OGSIEC for the peaceful conducts of the poll, while congratulating the winners from the polls.
Speaking with newsmen, Sunday, Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu, the State chairman of IPAC, said the state electoral umpire has further shown capacity to conduct a free and fair election.
“We appreciate the efforts of Governor Dapo Abiodun for providing enabling and peaceful atmosphere for the election as there was no record of violence before, during and after the election.
” IPAC under my leadership also applaud OGSIEC for being a partner in progress and listening to our various demands.
“This election had all parties participating and we congratulate the winners whom are being given the letters of certification Today, we encourage you all to continue to deepen democracy in all of your local government areas by ensuring an open door policy amongst all Political parties as you are the leaders of the local government.
“We shall continue to work with the State Government in our various capacities”, he said
