ABEOKUTA–The Ibese Youths, Yewa, Ogun state have dissociated themselves from a purported plan protest at Dangote Cement Factory by some youths under the aegis of Yewa Youths.
Recall that a group in Ogun state under the aegis of Yewa Youths has concluded plans to stage a protest at Dangote Cement Factory Ibese.
The group claimed that they have tried all their possible best to appeal to the Dangote Cement to implement the agreement reached with them in 2020 but the it failed them
Meanwhile, the Ibese Youth Leader, Mr Aina Bamigboye denied the protest plan, saying that the group is faceless
He described the protest plan as laughable.
He said that a faceless group such as Yewa Youth or Ilaro Youth Development Forum (IYDF) does not exist as a legitimate body that can negotiate or act as a mouthpiece for Ibese or the host communities of Dangote Cement, Ibese.
“The purported publication of this group partly reads: ‘We won’t allow you to continually play on our intelligence, we have exhausted our patience and we are ready to use force’
The Youth Leader of Ibese, when contacted said, ‘let me say at this juncture that we are also waiting patiently to feast our eyes on the flight of fancy they have thoughtlessly steeled themselves for.
” I have made it clear in my position sometimes last year that whatever group of people that has any request to make from any organization and in this case Dangote Cement can go ahead and pursue it.
He maintained that the pursuit becomes an issue when it infringes on others’ right or maligns them.
“I would like to say or declare that all activities of the body that parades itself as Yewa Youths or Ilaro Youh Development Forum (IYDF) targeted at making any demand on behalf of Ibese or the Dangote Cement host communities are wantonly meddlesome and illegal.
”Yewa Youths is not a platform for the youths in the host communities to ventilate their grievances or relate with the Dangote Cement, Ibese.’
“I therefore strongly advise the group whose intention is to gain prominence so as to launch their avarice to renege their plan and stay in their own territory in their own interest to do whatever they have chosen to do. We at Ibese will not fold our arms to see some miscreants orchestrate our focus on the altar of self apotheosis and rable rousing. This is a strong warning.’
Bamigboye therefore added that the Ibese youth unequivocally dissociated themselves from the purported June protest, adding that they have also decided to bulwark their territorial integrity with all it takes.
