ABSOKUTA– The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun state council have commended a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North, Hon Akeem Oluseye for his move to bring his professional ideas into politics at the grassroot level.
The Council made the commendation during a courtesy visit by Oluseye to the Council’s Secretariat, Iwe Royin, Abeokuta, on Friday.
The council team led by the chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju expressed his delight to Oluseye, saying if young professionals with track record of leadership takes the position of leadership, the society will take a different shape.
Comrade Olanrewaju stressed that the state would have been better if professionals with good leadership have been in the local government council in the past.
He appreciated Oluseye for the visit, mentioning that such visit was the first from any grassroot politician, promising to give necessary support as the local government political activities start.
In his short remark, Hon Oluseye emphasized the importance of media in grassroot development, promising to get the media involved on his political journey very soon.
He also called on youth participation in politics, the only way to change the narrative in our society.
