CALABAR– There are moments in politics when silence tells a louder story than applause. Moments when absence, rather than presence, becomes the clearest indicator of public mood. The Central Youth Tour was one such moment, a stage set for solidarity, yet marked by empty spaces and unanswered expectations, leaving many to quietly ask uncomfortable questions.
When will Oden Ewa be sincere with himself and the reality before him? The recent tour exposed a troubling truth: there was no visible backing from major stakeholders across the Central Senatorial District.
From Etung to Yakurr, Abi, Obubra, Boki, and Ikom, the anticipated show of support never happened. Even more revealing was the absence of his closest political allies, a development that speaks volumes about the level of rejection and growing disconnect between ambition and acceptance.
Leadership is not defined by constant movement or public displays, but by substance, results, and genuine followership.
Rather than gallivanting under the banner of premature senatorial ambition, Oden Ewa should refocus on the responsibilities of his current office.
His priority must be to clearly showcase and strengthen the people’s first agenda of the Governor, Sweet Prince Bassey Edet Otu, delivering tangible dividends of governance. Politics without impact quickly becomes a distraction.and this is one distraction that must stop if credibility is to be restored.
