ABEOKUTA– A former student leader in Ogun state, Hon. Lanre Mosaku has launched a socio-political foundation aimed at empowering the less privileged in the society.
The foundation, Lanre Mosaku Movement (LAMM) on Sunday, at The African Church, Ita Olori, Totoro Abeokuta empowered some indigent students with books, bags and cash for school fees as part of it’s social responsibility to the society.
Speaking with newsmen after the presentation, the younger brother of the founder, Damilola Mosaku narrated how the movement started with an ignite on his brother to close the gap between the government and the govern.
He stated that the founder who according to him is a lover of the youth, which has been part of his works over the years, a character which has also encouraged him to do likewise.
“I will love to give this message to the people because to start this kind of movement is not an easy task with the present situation of the country, so I believe.
“Olarewaju is a lover of youth and he has been doing these for years which is kind of encouraging to me as a younger brother, and basically for the youth movement this is what he has in mind to do for the youth and he has been doing this to help the youth, he is a lover of youth, lover of children and lover of the society at large”, he added
Also speaking, a student leader and friend of the founder, Kehinde Ademuyiwa says though the movement is apolitical, he however emphasize that it will help to cushion the gap government cannot fill in the society.
Ademuyiwa noted that the vision behind the movement is self sustaining, adding that the visioneer is capable to ensure a smooth running of the movement to affect more lives.
“I am friend to Olarewaju and he is also a comrade. Well what he has done today is a movement, a movement that is ready to serve the interests of all, let me say that It is not a political party but just a movement that we want to build the next generation of youth on.
“You know many of them have interest, they have vision they have dreams, but with the way things are going, many of them have been detailed. They don’t really know how to channel their dreams and that is why we have many people involving in lot of crimes, but with this movement, we call it catch them young so it basically to better the lives of people so that everyone of us will be mentally balanced that is why we are here today.
“You know when a movement or a move lacks vision, like when there is a vision it is limitless. This movement and it is not about one person alone, but it must carries the name of somebody there must be a leader, we cannot all be the leader, but there must be leader that is why we use Olanrewaju Mosaku”, he said
