ABEOKUTA– Critical Stakeholders in the business sector have called for more synergy among hosts, exhibitors and vendors in the business exhibition industry in order to maximize the full potential of the sector.
The stakeholders, drawn from business Owners, Exhibitors, Organisers, and Start Ups founder, spoke on how to Navigate the pains and prospect of Ogun State Business Exhibitions.
Speaking at the sideline of the event held in commemoration of the 2026 International Women Day held at ChopLife Villa, Abeokuta, the Convener, Global Women of Impact, Bola Solate stated that until there is unity among exhibitors and others, there will be a disconnect between investment and profits.
Solate added that the event was organized to dissects the challenges faced by women in business, while profering solutions as a way to mark the International Women’s Day.
“This event is a break away from the norm. We are not here to do ‘feferity’. This is a call for serious discussion on how we can foster unity among ourselves, and take our industry to greater heights.
“There are so many things that affects women, from loan sourcing in business, to health, family and leadership, so, this event is to meet the IWD call to action on community based issues”, she said
Also speaking, the Convener of Sagamu Trade Fair with Lovince, Idowu Sarah stressed the need for the creation of an umbrella body for Exhibitors in the state, which according to her will ensure accountability, fairness and respect.
“If we have an organization, like an association for members, the government and corporate bodies will respect us more. This will help us have leadership, and to be accountable for each other and solve so many internal challenges we are facing at the moment”, she added
Meanwhile, the host of HRF Business Exhibition, Ifesanya Bamidele Kafayat in her submission noted that lack of sponsors, and government non commitments to the sector has been discouraging.
She however suggest that exhibitors in Ogun state can create a carnival like exhibition, where all exhibitors come under one date, venue and purpose.
“The only way we can address the challenges of date clashes is to turn exhibition in Ogun state into a carnival. Let us all come together as one”, she added
With the theme, ‘Give To Gain’, the International Women’s Day celebration is held every March 8th.
