ABEOKUTA– An Islamic Non-governmental organisation, (NGO), Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation has given out cash and other vocational equipments worth millions of naira to Indigenes of Ogun state.
At the event held at the Crescent Hall, Lemme, in Abeokuta on Sunday, items given out includes, Sewing machine, generating sets, food items, catering equipments, refrigerator, amongst others.
Speaking exclusively with The News Ville, the cordinator of the organization, Alhaji Abdrahman Kewulere appreciated partners of the organization in raising the package for all beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, HRM Oba Lukmon Adeleke Kuoye who graced the occasion commended the initiative of the program, saying that it is in fulfilment of the laid down injuction of the holy prophet, Muhammed on Zakat.
He added that in his personal capacity, he will add his mite in coming years in fulfilment of his promise to the organisation.
“I pray that this gesture will grow in your hands. You will not have reasons to sell or misuse it. It will be a gift that will further lift you up economically”, he prayed for the beneficiaries
One of the beneficiaries, Kehinde Yusuf appreciated the gesture towards her, adding that the items will spur her into creating my jobs thereby bridging the unemployment gap in the country.
