Like most business, they had modest cash reserves, and without a quick infusion of cash, they would be in danger of having to close permanently.
Reading through threads on delivery companies exhortations by NIPOST, police, touts, VIO, MOT, task forces and the Lagos State, no doubt, the various organizations are put in place to deliberately bring businesses down. Many graduates today operate pick up and delivery services to make ends meet and keep them floating instead of engaging in crimes, rather than the government to create enabling environment to thrive, they have rather constitutes itself as a “business killer”.
I run a small business too and I have some insight into the travails of small businesses that are subject to a “government-mandated shutdown.” I think many businesses experience is typical, particularly for logistics, office owners and transportations.
Before the virus came to town, many businesses are struggling with the harsh business environment created by the government through unrealistic projections, bad policies, political interferences and exhortations from the police arrest to the local government selling various unscrupulous papers especially in ikorodu, Yaba and Alimosho axis, they make life difficult for both the riders and companies who is struggling under heavy burdens of the unfriendly business policies of the government.
On July 16th, with no notice, they were ordered by the state of Lagos to close doors against and takeout delivery services companies, using task force and several touts stationed across the local government. When government tectically ordered shut down of legitimate businesses of youth trying to solve problems, firstly put in place by the government.
If they succeed, they had millions of nairas down the drain, we implore the government to reconsider it’s stand if not for the millions of unemployment ravaging the country, at least for the sake of peace.
