IKOM– Just as the sun was set to rise and she sat in meditation to the Excellency of God’s awesomeness and goodness over the past 59 years, numerous groups of unique identities comprising Religious, Political, and Ethical extracts paid a surprise visit to the Executive Chairman of Ikom LGA, Hon. Pastor [Mrs] Mercy Nsor at her official residence to commemorate her birth Anniversary.
Considered Mother to all and bridge across communities, Hon. Mercy Nsor, just over a month in office, has been critical to the Peace, Unity, and Inclusiveness of all and sundry in the LGA, hence the show of love .
With songs of love and chants of well wishes serenaded by the sound of trumpets, the groups took turn to extol her for her simplicity, dedication to duty, transparency, and openness even before her glorious elevation to the helm of affairs in the council.
Responding in a demure tune soaked in emotions and warmth appreciation, the celebrant, Pastor Mercy Nsor acknowledged God to be the source of her strength and goodness, reverencing Him as always.
She said, God’s faithfulness has remained immensed in her rising, placing men and women in her direction for upliftment and establishment.
“I want to thank God for this honour of 59 years, the hand of God has been upon my life and God has placed men around me for my lifting.
I want to thank the State Governor, Apostle Sen. [Prince] Bassey Edet Otu and His dear wife, Bishop [Mrs] Eyoawan Otu for their stance in standing with the people and promoting gender inclusiveness at all times. I will continue to repay the people of Ikom with total service for development as a show of appreciation for their magnanimity and support and together we will make Ikom the choice destination for business, leisure, and growth”
Some of the groups who showed up include; LGC Directors, Legislative Arm led by the Leader of Council, Hon. Cletus Efale Moyo, Secretary of Council, Hon. Edo Owan, Supervisors, Special Assistants, Personal Assistants, When Women Pray Group, Political Leaders and Stakeholders, Students Union Groups, among others.
