ABEOKUTA — In what appears to be a political campaign, Muslim praying ground across Abeokuta metropolis was flooded with the Re-elect Dapo Abiodun packaged rice bags.
At the Lantoro praying ground, Abeokuta, government officials were seen distributing the packaged rice to muslims faithfuls in celebration of the end of fast.
Recall that the packaged rice were parts of the campaign utilities used by the incumbent government as gifts to electorates, a gesture regarded by many as votes buying.
As at the time of filing this report, officials of government distributing the rice have moved to other locations to extend government benevolence to Muslim faithful as they mark end of ramadan.
