LAGOS– It was double celebration Saturday for the former military administrator of Ogun State, Commodore Kayode Olofinmoyin’s family as his son quits bachelorhood, just as he marked the 45 years of marriage with his wife, Sandra.
The solemnization of holy matrimony which took place under strict compliance with the covid-19 protocols at the Holy Cross Cathedral, with the reception at the Navy Dockyard, Lagos Island had the former Military administrator of Lagos State, and two term Civilian Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as chairman of the occasion.
In his remark, Oyinlola draws the attention of the couple to the fact that marriage is a long life journey, adding that God must be put first in every situation
“Marriage is a long life journey, you need to keep matrimonial sacrament, no alternative but to abide. It is a long life celebration.
“Put God first in your affairs, and avoid third party influence, with God on your side, you will be blessings for your parents and your own children’, he emphasized.
The officiating priest, Bishop Felix Ajakaye in his sermon congratulated the couple for making history and advised them to let God’s guidance be their watchword, adding that loving each other is the bedrock of good marriage.
The cleric said they should also guide against interference in their marriage from outside, stressing that lack of trust in any marriage is dangerous, hence, the duo should continually trust each other all time and avoid hearsay.
“Parts of the your responsibilities and focus is to start raising your own family, therefore you should not lack in individual role of raising a happy home, and I believe that God will see you through” he said
He however advised the couple’s parents to give them breathing space, and avoid conducts that may affects their home, adding that the parents’ roles include positive and good guidance.
The couple expressed thanks to God for making the day possible, adding that they would ensure they follow God guidance as they start their marriage of living together permanently, while appreciating all guests who came to honour them.
