IKOM– In pursuit of advancing the course of development and handling one project at a time, the Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Hon. Pst. [Mrs] Mercy Nsor, has restored portable water supply to the Area Council Secretariat to boost hygiene and other personal needs.
Hon. Mercy Nsor has also upgraded all the office equipment of the Council as today, all Political Appointees and other Council Staff have access to a serene and conducive office spaces.
The Chairman, Hon. Nsor, while urging Staff of the Area Council to maintain decorum in handling public infrastructure, noted that her administration would not give tolerance to vandalism and other unethical practices resulting in wastage/destruction of government properties.
She noted that plans are on the way to expand/extend the gesture of portable water supply to other places of public utilization as well as residential areas to curb incidences of water-borne diseases especially now that the raining season is near.
In her word; “knowing how important it is for us to have access to portable drinking water and comfort in our working environments, we have started in the Area Council because of its administrative importance; we are expanding our developmental plans to cover places of high population density to provide potable water supply at the reach of our people.
Our offices have been looked into with standard equipment and comfortable office spaces knowing how important it is for our people to work in a conducive and serene environment. Today, the legislative Chamber, Exco Chamber, all my Political Appointees, and other offices in the Council are wearing a new face with refurbished furniture and other necessary equipment to make work easier and bring out efficiency and results.
Recently, we were recognized for our impact on Sanitation, Hygiene, and Water Projects, ranking us 4th among 774 local government areas in Nigeria; I want to assure you of its sustainability and the positive effects it will have on our people.”
Hon. Mercy Nsor has vowed to transform Ikom LGA while taking it project by project; four months into her administration, she has so far touched various sectors, including Education, Health, Sports, infrastructure, etc. Her administration has been up to speed with her blueprint being followed and massively implemented. Ikom, indeed, is in safe hands.
