IKOM—The Chairman of All Ethnic Groups and Associations [ALEGAS] in Ikom LGA, Mr. Agom Agom, alongside his entire Executive Members and a cross-section of the Cyclist Union operating in the LGA, have passed a unanimous *vote of confidence on the current Chairman of the Cyclist Union, Comrade Akunobor Manyo Ndifon.
The declaration was passed during an enlarged and well-attended courtesy visit to the Ikom LGA Council Chairman, Hon. Pst. Mercy Nsor, led by the ALEGAS Chairman. Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Agom Agom commended Comrade Akunobor Manyo Ndifon for stabilizing the Union since assuming office.
He noted that the Cyclist Chairman had overseen a smooth and ongoing Profiling Exercise of Members, which has brought order and accountability to the association.
The delegation also applauded the relative peace and orderly conduct now being observed among cyclists in Ikom LGA, attributing it to the leadership style and inclusive approach of the current Chairman.
The Union expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Ikom LGA for her timely intervention in the unruly activities that characterized the Union under the previous administration. Members commended her wisdom and leadership experience in appointing Comrade Akunobor Manyo to lead the Union, describing it as a decision that has restored relative peace, confidence, and discipline.
Reaffirming their faith and trust in the current leadership, the motion for the vote of confidence was moved by the Secretary of ALEGAS, Mr. Chidi Jerome, and seconded by the Financial Secretary of the Association, Mr. Eyam Ogbe.
Responding during the visit, the Chief Security Officer and number One Citizen of Ikom LGA, Hon. Mercy Nsor, thanked the delegation for their solidarity and assured the Union of her administration’s unflinching support at all times. She charged members of the Cyclist Union to work in tandem with the Union chairman to, at all times, maintain peace and order, especially during this electioneering period.
“My administration will not entertain or tolerate any form of breakdown of law and order. I urge you all to remain peaceful and be good ambassadors of the Ikom LGA Cyclist Union,” she stated
