ASABA— Member representing Patani state constituency in the Delta state house of Assembly Hon. Engr Emmanuel Sinebe has express deep satisfaction with the state governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for providing palliatives to cushion the impact of the lockdown on the people of Delta.
Engr Sinebe while supervising the state government’s palliatives for Patani local government area stated that the food items will address to a reasonable extent the challenges faced by the most vulnerable people in society who are mostly affected by the lockdown in the state.
He assured the people of the state government’s commitment towards their welfare and well-being and promised to always provide support for the people.
“We have in the level of leadership made individual contributions to augment what the state government has provided for our people and by tomorrow we will take the items to the various wards as instructed by the governor”.
“Let me assure our people that they will get what is due them in their communities and as such they should conduct themselves in the most appropriate manner so that those who have been assigned to distribute the food items can do their job without stress and harassment“
Hon. Sinebe further commended the efforts of the governor towards addressing the challenges posed by COVID-19 by taking proactive steps and putting in place adequate machinery to ensure that those who have contracted the virus are given prompt medical attention in the various isolation and treatment centres in the state.
“people should respect the state government’s directive to state at home and ensure that the spread of coronavirus will be contained in the state”, he stated.
Chairman of Patani local government council Hon. Perez Omoun who took delivery of the various food items stated that 400 bags of 50kg rice, 200 bags of 100kg beans, 350 cartons of noodles, Honeywell 200 cartons and Spaghetti 80 cartons
He state that the leadership of the local government area including private individuals have contributed funds for the purchase other items such as 100 bags of Garri, 50 cartons of frozen fish, 10 cartons of Geisha fish, 5 cartons of Sardine and several tubers of yam will be distributed tomorrow to the various communities making up the wards in the local government area.
Hon.Perez used the opportunity to appreciate Senator James Manager for his kind gesture towards the people of Patani local government by donating the sum of two million naira to support the COVID-19 committee in local government.
